Yes, you are not dreaming, the third in the series... This time, this is a Squier Vintage Modified Jazz Bass FSR (Factory Special Run) 2011, a limited edition which basically combines the body of the new Vintage Modified Jazz Bass with the maple neck of the old Vintage Modified Jazz Bass (as well as the pickgard of the latter). It is very hard to know what type of wood the body is made of, some web sites claiming that it is in Soft Maple as the old model, others say Basswood as the new model or even Agathis as in the Vintage Modified Jazz Bass ‘77. I can't say for sure but the weight of the bass seems to me to be in between that of the old Vintage Modified Jazz Bass (with Soft Maple body, which is quite heavy) and the Jazz Bass ‘77 (in Agathis, which is very light -although the dealer told me that there were much variations depending on the arrivals). To be more precise, it weights 4.2 kg, which is (I believe) rather light for such a thing. It is build in Indonesia and, as you will see, in the pictures below, it seems to have a two-piece body.

Superficially it does look a bit like the sunburst Geddy Lee model from Fender but otherwise I believe its specs. are the same as that of the two common versions of the Vintage Modified Jazz Bass.

Note that out of curiosity after reading different opinions on this on the web, I removed the pickguard to see how the bass looked without the pickguard and it does have a rather ugly hole for cables just like this one (many recent models from Fender have the same hole as well it seems).

As you won't find this particular item on Squier's site (due to it being a limited edition), I am including a few more pictures (click on them for larger resolution versions). Dealers and web sites that carry this FSR 2011 edition sell it for the same price as the other JB models in the Vintage Modified series (natural, sunburst with rosewood fingerboard or '77 model).
